What did you do at the De La Warr Pavilion?

This exhibition reflects on the everyday experiences of our visitors at the Pavilion during its first 80 years. Drawing on the Bexhill Observer newspaper archive held at Bexhill Museum and material generously donated by the public through our ongoing Heritage Research Project, we have made a small selection of stories and contextualised them within an 80 year timeline. From outdoor ice skating, cat picture shows and family events to lectures, art installations and stand up comedy, this exhibition shows how the activities at the Pavilion have responded to the social, cultural and technological changes that have transformed our lives.

We would like to invite you to help us fill in the gaps and share your experiences at the Pavilion on the memory wall inside the exhibition, or if you prefer, you can book a time to come in and talk to one of our heritage researchers. The material gathered will form part of our volunteer run Heritage Research Project, an ongoing initiative to build a digital archive for the future.
