more information

This UK-wide festival offers every secondary school the chance to perform Shakespeare on a professional stage.

Fifteen years ago, twelve of Shakespeare's most popular plays were abridged and animated for the S4C and BBC series 'Shakespeare - The Animated Tales'. Now, in an extraordinary initiative that bridges Education and the Arts, local schools will be using those scripts to reclaim some of the greatest stories ever told in their own 30-minute performances.

The schools involved and the plays they will be performing are:

Wednesday evening

  • Cavendish School - 'The Winter's Tale'
  • Filsham Valley School - 'Richard III'
  • Hillcrest School - 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'
  • Ratton School - 'Macbeth'

Thursday evening

  • Helenswood School - 'Macbeth'
  • The Grove School - 'As You Like It'
  • William Parker School - 'The Tempest'
