Familiar to many thousands of music fans as the front man in the Scottish rock band Idlewild, Roddy Woomble is also a celebrated solo songwriter & performer. His latest album ‘Listen to Keep’ (released March 2013 on Reveal Records) features eleven new songs written and recorded with his band at An Tobar on the Isle of Mull. The new band featuring Seonaid Aitken (violin, piano, vocals), Gavin Fox (bass), Danny Grant (drums), Sorren Maclean (guitar, vocals) help to create the perfect backdrop for Roddy’s poetic lyrics, blending touches of country and folk to a set of poignant songs.
Roddy Woomble's naturally poetic writing and consistent touring have won him many thousands of fans all over the world and he is widely regarded as one ofScotland's finest songwriters. ‘Listen To Keep’ is another great recording packed with memorable melodies and powerful, artistic expression following on from his first two acclaimed solo albums; his cult‐classic solo début ‘My Secret Is My Silence’ (2006) and ‘The Impossible Song and Other Songs’.
In 2014, Roddy will be continuing to tour around the UK and is set to release a live album in the spring.
