A rare opportunity to see one of America's greatest folk singers Loudon Wainwright III in a special a solo show at the De La Warr Pavilion.
Father to Rufus, Martha and Lucy and husband to the late Kate McGarrigle, Loudon Wainwright is the lynchpin of the Wainwright dynasty. His recording career spans a total of 23 albums, including 2009’s Grammy-winning High Wide & Handsome and recent topical release, 10 Songs For the New Depression. Loudon's forthcoming career-spanning box set 40 Odd Years is co-produced by Loudon fan and producer of Knocked Up and Superbad, Judd Apatow.
'There's no more endangered a species than the wholly original songwriter, and to watch Wainwright in action is to catch a little fragment of history on the hoof.' - The Guardian

Lucy Wainwright Roche
Daughter of Loudon Wainwright, daughter of Suzzy Roche of The Roches and sister of Rufus Wainwright, Lucy has been admist musicians her whole life. She has has recorded two critically acclaimed EPs herself, 8 Songs and 8 More, and has opened sets for The Indigo Girls, Eddi Reader and Rufus Wainwright.
Weaving in and out of stories and song, Lucy creates a unique tapestry blending the ordinary and the magical. Her tales are heartbreaking and humorous in equal measure, with a charming simplicity.
"Sincere and raw at times recalling Joni Mitchell and Patti Griffen, Roche's bittersweet voice jumps out; she paints an indelible image"
