8pm:  Screening of Le Mépris (Contempt)
Directed by Jean-Luc Godard, 1965.
Staring Brigitte Bardot, Jack Palance and Fritz Lang.
A satire with teeth, Godard’s most accessible but bravest film. A conflict between artistic expression and commercial opportunity parallels the progressive estrangement between a husband and wife.

This event is a partnership between the De La Warr Pavilion and New Writing South, and part of the programme for the Modern Times exhibition at the Pavilion exploring the art of the 20th Century.
