Jonathan Gilhooly’s work operates at the interface between artwork and observer - that particular, invisible plane at which apprehension (or lack of it) takes place.

'Light House' is a video installation in which the space occupied by the on-screen magician overlaps with that of the spectator. Drawing upon 19th century optical experiments and stage illusions, the piece also alludes to the spectacular nature of early cinema.
