The East Sussex Youth orchestra returns to the De La Warr Pavilion Programme for its annual summer concert and this year will include the enormously popular Elgar Cello Concerto in E minor Opus 85, with Sussex young professional cello soloist Ella Rundle, and Dvorak Symphony N0 9 ‘From the New World’.
Ella studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and has won prizes in several competitions including the Israeli International Music Competition (2012), and the concerto competition at the ISA festival, Vienna (2009). East Sussex Youth Orchestra ESYO offers students the highest level of performing opportunities within East Sussex, with performances at prestigious venues at home and abroad. They have performed at the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall in London, as well as abroad and all the large venues across East Sussex. The orchestra generally attracts members between the ages of 14 and 21 and consequently the standard of performance is especially high.
