Andy Warhol, Marilyn Diptych (1962), Tate © The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts / Artists Rights Society (ARS), New York / DACS, London 2011
Mondays, 26 Sep - 28 Nov
Tutor: Sharon Haward
Develop concepts and practical art skills, in and around the context and themes embodied in the Andy Warhol exhibition in this ten week course.
Experiment with drawing, painting, illustration, 3D construction and photography to explore key themes in Warhol's work, including portraiture, news stories, branding, celebrity and everyday found objects.
By analysing and interpreting themes in Warhol's work in light of contemporary concerns, rather than replicating his style, this course explores his legacy and current influence on today's artists, designers and ourselves.
