Brilliant Horizon is a weekend of free events produced by the Hastings and Rother Arts Champions, a group of young people who work to champion the arts in their schools, colleges and communities.

The Bexhill College Art Champions have woven together random news clips found online. The frenetic muddle of terrifying, tragic and resiliant images and sounds, reflect the sense of anxiety and confusion often felt by young people overwhelmed by a constant feed of negative news and an assortment of social pressures.

Curved Kite workshop

Inspired by the curves and colours in Bridget Riley's painting, make a small curved kite and let your kite dance and soar on the beach!

The Myth of Persephone,Drama and Dance Performance

Whilst examining archival materials in Bexhill Museum, Helenswood Academy Arts Champions uncovered proposals to install a large statue of Persephone on the terrace of the De La Warr Pavilion  watching over the sea. The proposal was never realized. The Art Champions have devised a new drama and dance performance interpreting the Greek Myth of Persephone and her journey to the underworld

Complaints Choir -Inaugural public performance

Join us at the Bandstand to see The Hastings and Rother Complaint Choir perform the result of three weeks work with Musicians Otti Albietz of ‘Otti And The Voices’ on transforming their complaints into a unique glorious harmony!
