The main theme of the event will accent Marine Conservation and appreciation of the sea and our beautiful beaches. The Bexhill Festival of the Sea, now in its fifth year, is a popular annual event for families and visitors of all ages.
The festival in 2015 attracted over 30,000 fun-seeking visitors over the two days. With several new stalls booked and the music line up nearly complete 2016 is looking very much like another great weekend.

The Festival has two parts – angling competitions based at Bexhill Sea Angling Club, plus a Weekend Event on the stunning £5 million exhibition space beside the De La Warr Pavilion. The fun starts this year on Saturday 3rd September with 2 days food and fun for all on the Metropole Lawns and fishing competitions along the beaches of Rother.

The festival showcases local traders selling delicious food dishes prepared by top chefs from a host of countries and cultures which are sure to get your taste buds tingling. As well as food and drink, there will be plenty of unique shopping and gift ideas and seaside focused stalls.

The famous Billingsgate Seafood Training School returns demonstrating the art of filleting, preparing and cooking many types of sea fish throughout the weekend. They bring a different presentation with a large LED screen to provide a clear view for all.

There’s also plenty to keep the family occupied with a variety of games and activities. For anyone who has never picked up a rod before, expert coaches will be on hand to show you how to cast from the beach and maybe hook that catch of a lifetime. The lessons are completely FREE thanks to the Bexhill Festival of the Sea sponsors.
