Founded in 1903 Battle Choral Society is one of the longest established choirs in the South East with a membership of almost 100 voices. Add four excellent soloists:

Louise Winter - mezzo-soprano
Louise has sung at many of the BBC Proms of the past decade, and in ther major opera houses and concert halls worldwide including the Royal Opera House and Glyndebourne.

Penelope Ramdall-Davis - soprano
With a dramatic coloratura voice, Penelope has been heard across the world from Glyndebourne to Sydney Opera House.

Gary Marriott - tenor
Matthew Sprange - bass

The substantial professional orchestra will be conducted by Director of Music, John Langridge, a former producer of live music at the BBC. With a programme of Italian masterpieces you will have all the ingredients for a magnificent evening of music.

In the famous Modernist auditorium, the programme begins with the sparkling William Tell Overture followed by some of the loveliest opera choruses ever written: The Grand March from Aida, Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves, Easter Hymn from Cavalleria Rusticana, Brindisi from La Traviata, The Anvil Chorus and more.

Finally, Rossini's sublime Stabat Mater will bring the concert to a resounding climax.
