Friday 26 November
Sound Intermedia - The George Moore Project
Those who came to Random Fridays were given a rare opportunity for a tour of the DLWP as they'd never experienced before.
Digital musicians of the London Sinfonietta, Sound Intermedia curated a bespoke progamme of installations and performances that explored the location and acoustics of the DLWP building. Incorporating some of the most cutting edge interactive sound art and electronic music in existence, this was a night to challenge your senses.
The Project incorporates design, styles, timbres and production techniques rarely explored together. Throughout the building, from small group interaction, installation to live concerts, audiences experienced the building in a way they may not have appreciated before.
Some of the biggest names on the experimental music map took part. Artists included experimental sound artist and winner of a British Composer of the Year Award 2009 Mira Calix, electronic performer and composer Anna Meredith and percussionist Sarah Cresswell. There were also performances by Quadworks, Helix, Tenney, Gesang and Sine Posts.
