Margaret Leng Tan and John Cage

Designed to compliment the John Cage exhibition, Every Day is a Good Day in Gallery 1, a nod to Cage is a season of art and sound installations and live events featuring some of the best exponents of John Cage’s philosophy.

The lynchpin of a nod to Cage, this insightful afternoon discussion focuses on John Cage’s practice and influences. Fascilitating the discussion is Anton Lukoszevieze, founder of experimental ensemble Apartment House and Margaret Leng Tan, pianist and performer and friend of John Cage who worked closely with him to realise his piano based compositions.

Following this at 5pm, Margaret Leng Tan performs Through the Silence, a programme she has put together to represent some of her favourites and the diversity of Cage’s work over three decades, using piano, string piano and toy piano.

Discussion: £5 (2.30pm)
